Concussion Management

Concussion can occur after a large force has been exerted on the brain, such as a blow to the head or strong whiplash. Symptoms experienced can vary greatly, as can their duration. If they persist longer than three months, it is referred to as Persistent Post-Concussion Syndrome (PPCS).

Concussion management has advanced from the traditional recommendation of rest, to a more focused treatment strategy - tailored to specific concussion subtypes. This targeted approach has been proven to accelerate the recovery process.
